When I saw Madeleine’s email signature and realised that she’s an attourney, I was nervous and intimidated, expecting a hard-core, take-no-nonsense bridezilla-type . But when I first met these two, at the Dros, I was immediately struck by how warm and trusting and easy-going they were. They asked my advice on timing and lighting, and took it. They loved just about every photo I showed them, even the ones that are usually not the favourites, even my oooooold portfolio with the 80’s style selective-colour editing. They seemed to be up for anything, and to be genuinely interested in little other than actually getting married. Their intimate wedding was held at Avianto in Muldersdrift on 2015.05.05 – a Tuesday! Only the closest friends and family attended. Madelein arranged all the decor herself! The couple ignored traditions and got dressed together before heading for the Fireside Room for their short and sweet ceremony. We took advantage of the beautiful sunset for a quick couple-portrait session before retreating back to the warmth of the Fireside Room as the winter cold rolled in. Some very emotional speeches ensued, followed by lots of dancing. I enjoyed working for them so much that I even threw in some complimentary colour-extraction editing, despite current photography trends not to. 😉 Photography by Leanne Williams, assisted by Kayla Rossini.
