I’m not a fan of selfies. But we missed our annual family pawtrait shoot in 2015, and my poor ginger puppy Simon hardly has any photos of his puppyhood. (Typical third child!) I also wanted to get some pics of the floating trophies we won at our dog school before they have to be returned. But Sean was too fully booked to help me. So I, alone, headed to the studio with three freshly groomed Siberian Huskies, two bags of treats, all the dogs’ awards, and our selfie button thingy.
Doggy Style accommodated my last minute request for professional grooming at my home. (by the way, do not google that without the safe search on! *blush*) The Sibes looked so pretty and floofy at the start of their shoot! During one of our breaks, Keidis mistook the cover on the swimming pool for solid ground, and Luna just loves to swim and jumped in with him, so it didn’t last long. I got some nice pics regardless.
Super proud of how far Keidis has come – from ‘Little Bugger of the Year 2014’ who ran away every chance he could, to his 2015 Perseverance Award, to a now pretty decent Obedience and Agility competitor who only bolts every now and then and has, by some miracle, made it to A2 and A3 in Agility. Luna has always been a good little sweetheart, but she really surprised me this year with all of her placings and qualifications in Agility and Obedience. Simon is wonderful and entertaining and very well-behaved. I’ve been wanting a puppy for a long time, so he’s a dream come true, with the added bonus of having some potential as a competition dog. It’s been the most funnest year ever!!! Have learned loads and made some lovely friends. Special thanks to Mckaynine, Gail Killian, Noelene Pretorius, PetFit and PaleoPet Pure– without you we would probably be frantically chasing naughty, bored, injured, sick Siberians instead of competing with beautifully balanced, friendly, fit, healthy dogs who are a pleasure to live with.
