Engagement Shoot

Shannon and Ignatius

Shannon had very specific ideas for her engagement shoot with Ignatius.  She had her heart set on Irene Farm at sunset – it was the first time Sean and I had shot there and we had quite an adventure, involving multiple conversations with numerous security guards, a few loops in the car, a couple of kilometers of walking (with heavy equipment), plus a few phone calls, to find the right spot.  It was worth it.  And actually… Continue reading

Jana and Heinrich, Owned by Finn

Beautiful Jana and her Heinrich, owned by Finn the Schnauzer, are engaged to be married in February next year.  Jana and I met through our mutual love of the sport of dog agility.  Earlier this year, Snapdragon Pictures sponsored some portraits of the South African Team who will be competing at the Agility World Championships, for use in the AWC catalogue and on social media.  After Jana saw the pics, she contacted me to take advantage… Continue reading

Julien and Asmita in Newtown

We met Asmita years ago when she played an awe-inspiring Sitar Piece at her brother’s wedding.   We’re so excited to be booked to photograph her wedding too, which will be held in Johannesburg early in 2018.  Her fiance, Julien, is from Switzerland, and they met while Asmita was traveling for business.  While Julien was here in South Africa, we took an afternoon to venture into Newtown and Braamfontein to capture some vibrant, urban couple’s portraits.  We… Continue reading

Roy and Yolandie at Reefsteamers

Roy and Yolandie are engaged!  They arranged the most beautifully styled engagement shoot at Reefsteamers in Germiston.  An extremely affectionate, sweet couple – Roy is such a gentleman and Yolandie is elegant and classy, so their chosen location and theme suited them so well.   Yolandie put lots of thought and effort into their outfits and props for their couple portraits and even their refreshments matched their vintage train-yard theme.  Can’t wait for their wedding to… Continue reading

Clint and Vaneshri – A Walk in the Park

This lovely couple and I met at one of the recent Marriage Meander Journeys.  They won the lucky draw for a free couple’s shoot.  We went to the Walter Sisulu Botanic Gardens and spent a couple of hours exploring the flora and experimenting with poses to practice for their wedding photos.  They were sweet and shy in front of the camera, but their love is easy and I have no doubt tbat their marriage will be… Continue reading

Taryn & Jason’s Couple Shoot

Taryn and Jason’s wedding is fast approaching! I suggested that we do their engagement shoot straight after Taryn’s make-up trial and Dawn Williams did a fabulous job at reducing my airbrushing-time! Taryn’s make-up was superb, dramatic and fun, just like her! Jason had a work emergency which left us little time for the shoot, so Sean, who had come with to discuss the details of their wedding video, offered to shoot a second angle (once I’d bribed him with Sushi)… Continue reading
