The Murgatroyd Family’s lifestyle portrait shoot happened on one of those winter days which is freezing in the shade and hot in the sun. It was extremely dry and dusty, with fabulous glowing, warm, purple light, even first thing in the morning. Since Devon was just under 4 years old, I suggested my favourite spots in Walter Sisulu Botanic Gardens so that he could have a little fun with the waterfall, the black eagles and the jungle gyms during the shoot. His older sister, Nikki, LOVES the camera so she struck so many funny, cute and beautiful poses and was a huge help with her little brother. Devon was a real character with his BIG gobby kisses, and his unlimited energy. He couldn’t have been bothered to sit still with his family for photos, until his folks requested a couple of shots of just the two of them, and then Devon jumped on his folks romance, which gave me some hilarious real moments to capture.
