The night before this wedding, while we were packing cameras and charging batteries in preparation, Sean and I got the horrible phone call to let us know that one of our very best and oldest friends had been tragically lost to an accident at his work. I must be honest, by the time morning finally rolled around, neither of us were terribly enthusiastic about being professional and creative for full day wedding, despite the lovely couple and weeks of planning. Once we arrived and got stuck into our work we felt a lot better. Tami and Chris are such an incredibly happy, easy going and friendly couple that we were completely engrossed and were able to temporarily forget our woes to the magic of their day. The wedding was held at Zulu Nyala Country Manour, the same place that we did their Engagement Shoot. So much exquisite attention to detail, and Tami’s own handiwork went into the props for the studio-booth and the details on the reception tables. Even the groom on their wedding cake had dreadlocks! Chris is not a bad photographer himself, so he had a very specific brief for us which included minimal effects on the edited images. He and Tami are obviously HUGE fans of the camera, and kept us very busy with their own ideas, their quirky moments and their joy at having each other. Their friends and families were so hospitable and treated us like celebrities, which made us even happier to work hard for them! The magic of this day combined with the pain in our hearts only reinforced my belief that what Sean and I do daily is immensely important to those who trust us with their memories, and has made me even more aware of how much I love my job. Chris and Tami, thank you so much for your patience with the edit, and for being such an amazingly photogenic couple. I hope you treasure these memories together forever!
