Remember Megan and John? We have had the privilege of creating their wedding photos, pregnancy pics and newborn portraits. Megan is also one of our much loved, highly creative, fun assistants. Her Little, Josh, has just turned two years old, and she wanted some updated family photographs at their home. Two is not my favourite age for portraits, so we suggested shooting candids of his birthday party in addition to posed portraits…to be safe.… Continue reading
Terina has three Border Collies, Keiko, Novac and Arrow, who are WILD on the agility course. So when she booked her Pawtrait Shoot, I immediately thought it was going to be HECTIC to get all three dogs to sit still for a family photo. I was so wrong. Without the agility equipment and hype of a dog show, the dogs were calm and as good as gold. Beautiful ‘stays’! And we rewarded them with a… Continue reading
My agility buddy, Bronwyn, contacted me to arrange a Lifestyle Pawtrait Shoot for ‘Small and Annoying’. I was confused. ‘Small’ is her nickname for her daughter (bipedial), Amy. ‘Annoying’ is her nickname for her newest dog, Presto, an imported Pumi. Susan is a Special. She is an admirable and experienced dog handler who excels at Dancing With Dogs and Agility. And that is how I met her – surprise surprise. She has a beautiful pack of smiling Staffies: Robocop, Storm, Ziza and Scarlett, as well as a rescue, Lexi, affectionately nicknamed ‘Straatbrak’ and a young rising agility star Kelpie named Zara. We went to their home on a lovely overcast evening to take some Fine Art… Continue reading
I met Candice and JJ through my most favourite thing second to media – dog agility. A few years ago, we shot some Studio Pawtraits with their furkids. Now we’re thrilled to do family portraits with the latest puppy, a little human breed, Levi! Candice wages war on a rare disease, Myesthena Gravis, and writes a really cool blog. It’s really lovely to see her so happy and well, finally living her dream of having… Continue reading
I’ve been incredibly blessed to document the growth of these amazing three Littles for many many years now. This year, we joined them at their family holiday home in Hartbeespoort. As always, we let them play and explore while searching for pretty light. Since the family is from Belgium, each grandchild proudly sported a Gent t-shirt in support of Belgium beer. Kyle did a lovely job of assisting with lighting, equipment, and most importantly, with keeping… Continue reading
