Do You Really Need A Wedding Videographer?

By Jetweb
It is your big day, the day you pledge your vows to the person with whom you intend to spend the rest of your life. A day you hope to never repeat. Whether you intend on having a big or small wedding you want everything to run smoothly and you want the best that money can buy, but your wedding budget may not always allow for the best. When deciding how to cut costs you may wonder whether you really need a wedding videographer?

Capture emotion

The difference between a videographer and a photographer is rather obvious, however, many mistakenly believe that a photographer is enough. Though it is true that a wedding videographer isn’t imperative, they do offer an element that still photography cannot bring across as intensely, and that element is emotion.

The sound of the brides emotional giggle as she says, ‘I do’ or the best man’s animated and descriptive speech at the reception, the first dance or the cutting of the cake. The ability to capture emotion is what a wedding videographer brings to the party, literally and figuratively.

On such an emotional day you want to be able to capture that happiness, the love and the well wishes by those close to you.

Creativity

As with photography, your wedding videographer can be very creative when it comes to shooting or editing a video. There are so many styles in which your wedding can be shot allowing the video to be a creative piece on its own or it can tie into the style of the wedding and photographs.

When thinking of a wedding video it’s best to keep away from the concept of having a documentary style video. Your videographer should rather capture the day in a movie style or reality TV show. In post-production they edit the moments to make it either a funny video, an emotional video or nostalgic one.

To conclude the answer is simply that if you have a good photographer you do not really need a wedding videographer, just like you do not really need Dom Perignon champagne if you have J.C Le Roux, but this final decision really depends on your taste and budget.
