Bryce and Bryde met in high school. The same school that Sean and Leanne attended. Bryde’s mom was our maths teacher and her older sister is our good friend! Bryde and Bryce were friends for years, and were then dating for only two months before Bryce proposed. They chose the lavish Avianto to contrast their simple and elegant theme of ivy and purple. We were told that Bryce wouldn’t enjoy posing for… Continue reading
7 month old Milana and her parents are visiting from the UK, so they wanted some photos their South African family. We had originally planned to shoot at the Johannesburg Zoo, but Milana’s very careful mum didn’t want to expose her to the cold, so we rescheduled for our studio. I think Milana’s busy uncles were a bit too much for her – She just wouldn’t pose nicely with them, though I still love the shots with her crying. But… Continue reading
Very early on the morning following The Geet, we met up with Bhavna for her hair and make-up. She said that her eyes felt like sandpaper, that they had danced so late the night before that she’d only managed to get an hour of sleep. And she still looked exquisite! We also took a moment to sneak away for a quick night shoot using our off camera flash. By Leanne Williams and Dee-Ann Kaaijk, assisted by Dominique Harding
Bhavna’s Sathak was an extravagant affair, held at Ramakrishna Hall in Kingfisher Street, Lenasia. Lots of joyful tears from Bhavna’s mom and dad…..lots of tears from the smokey fire too! Colourful stage lighting made it so easy for me to capture many lovely family moments. It was also really lovely catching up with Bhavna’s cousin, Shobha, who was our very very first Indian Bride many years ago. By Leanne Williams.
Bhavna’s Henna Party was held at her family home in Lenasia a few days before her wedding. I love this Indian Pre-Wedding tradition because it gives me a chance to get to know the ladies, and allows them some time to get comfortable with the cameras before the wedding. It’s also such a nice way for the ladies to unwind and feel pampered amoung all the stress of planning the wedding. We also did a night shoot… Continue reading
