
Liezl and Martin’s wedding was exactly 10 months ago. Martin didn’t waste any time! Liezl asked me for a handful of very specific maternity photos, so we started in studio and then headed for a nearby park for sunset. Little Derick Simon should make his appearance in a week or two. On new year’s day, these 3 sisters ignored hangovers and brought their extended family together for another photoshoot. Here’s their last shoot. This time we went to the park next to the Boskruin Koppie near their homes. It started out really dreary and overcast, but at least it was cool with soft light. Mom treated her two daughters to an urban family photoshoot in Johannesburg to celebrate her eldest’s 21st birthday. Nothing makes three beautiful ladies glow like some grunge and graffiti in early morning light. These three obviously love the camera and were an absolute pleasure to shoot. By Leanne Williams.
Since the kids enjoyed their photo shoot so much last year, we did the exact same shoot again this year…..Walter Sisulu Botanic Gardens…..some attempts at formal poses (always a fun challenge with three toddlers) followed by documentary photos of them playing and having fun. The Murgatroyd Family’s lifestyle portrait shoot happened on one of those winter days which is freezing in the shade and hot in the sun. It was extremely dry and dusty, with fabulous glowing, warm, purple light, even first thing in the morning. We covered Gerhardus and Natasha’s wedding late last year. On the day, their two children quickly abandoned their wedding outfits in favour of a nap, so we didn’t get many formal photos of the family together.
