Shannon McKay is the owner of McKaynine. We met her many years ago when we wanted to spend more quality time with and have more control over our Siberian Huskies. She and her team have been hugely helpful, and have made training really fun. Shannon also breeds beautiful, goofy Grate Danes. We did this Pawtrait Shoot at McKaynine Honeydew, Shannon’s home with two of her special girls. Smooch and Joanie were the canine models. They were so excited and… Continue reading
Two weird things happened on this shoot. The first is that my very old friend from primary school, Rela, was awake and beautified at 5 am! The second is that Keegan, who I first met when he was about 10 years old, is now taller than his dad. We met at the family home way too early, downed a quick but delicious cup of caffeine, and then headed into the family’s neighborhood to take advantage of the soft, flattering morning… Continue reading
The Staessens shoots are always mini adventures. But this year’s resulted in the weirdest, most out-of-character client brief I have ever given. Remember Shenaaz and Stephen’s Maternity Photos? This little cutie named Kai was an absolute pleasure to shoot. He was soooo relaxed and happy and sleepy. We scheduled went to his home and moved some furniture around to take advantage of some soft window light. We used beautiful old cameras from the family home, as well as some Disney soft toys from Kai’s aunty Jen (you might remember her phenomenal wedding). Megan Calitz assisted… Continue reading
The Kotze Family have welcomed little Adam! We did Tilly-Marie’s newborn photos in the same room a few short years ago, and I can’t believe how much she and Derick have grown up already.

The beautiful Shenaaz braved some very rough ground with some seriously swollen ankles to allow us to capture these exquisite photos. The sunset was glowing, as was Shenaaz, and Stephen added a large dose of fun and humour to the shoot. Photography by Sean and Leanne Williams. Editing by Leanne Williams.
