Marriage Meander – The July Journey

The Marriage Meander Journeys are such a clever idea.  They’re for brides who want to squeeze every ounce of fun out of their wedding-planning-experience while meeting trusted wedding suppliers, exploring amazing wedding venues and taste-testing the food.  16 such brides and their friends, retinues, families and/or fiances met at scenic Glenburn Lodge where they were served a delicious breakfast prepared by a celebrity chef, shown around the venue, and introduced to a few wedding suppliers, such as the… Continue reading

Marriage Meander – The June Journey

The Marriage Meander Journeys are such a clever idea.  They’re for brides who want to milk every ounce of fun out of their wedding-planning-experience while meeting trusted wedding suppliers, exploring amazing wedding venues and taste-testing the food.  Last Sunday, 16 such brides and their friends, retinues, families and/or fiances met at the exquisite Memoire, where they were served a delicious breakfast, treated to a sporadic dance lesson, treated to a candy buffet, and shown around the venue… Continue reading

Bryce and Bryde’s Wedding

Bryce and Bryde met in high school.  The same school that Sean and Leanne attended.  Bryde’s mom was our maths teacher and her older sister is our good friend!   Bryde and Bryce were friends for years, and were then dating for only two months before Bryce proposed.  They chose the lavish Avianto to contrast their simple and elegant theme of  ivy and purple.    We were told that Bryce wouldn’t enjoy posing for… Continue reading

Rosheel and Bhavna’s Wedding

Very early on the morning following The Geet, we met up with Bhavna for her hair and make-up.  She said that her eyes felt like sandpaper, that they had danced so late the night before that she’d only managed to get an hour of sleep.  And she still looked exquisite!  Their massive Hindu Wedding Ceremony was held at Alberton Hall to fit in the huge guest list.  Bhavna insisted on having a black background for… Continue reading

Bhavna and Rosheel’s Geet

Immediately following Bhavna’s Sathak, Rosheel’s family joined Bhavna’s for a huge pre-wedding celebration.  They danced and danced and danced, and we still can’t believe that their families managed to fill up that massive hall.  We also took a moment to sneak away for a quick night shoot using our off camera flash.  By Leanne Williams and Dee-Ann Kaaijk, assisted by Dominique Harding

Bhavna’s Sathak in Lenasia

Bhavna’s Sathak was an extravagant affair, held at Ramakrishna Hall in Kingfisher Street, Lenasia.  Lots of joyful tears from Bhavna’s mom and dad…..lots of tears from the smokey fire too!  Colourful stage lighting made it so easy for me to capture many lovely family moments.   It was also really lovely catching up with Bhavna’s cousin, Shobha, who was our very very first Indian Bride many years ago.  By Leanne Williams.
